Senior Quantity Surveyor

Senior Electrical Engineer

At GP Joule, renewable energy isn’t just a goal — it’s a responsibility. We’re building the energy system of the future by harnessing power from the sun and wind, enabling CO₂-free mobility, and developing smart storage and usage solutions. As a full-service provider of renewable energy, GP Joule delivers sustainable energy solutions for generations to come — working in close partnership with communities, companies, and individuals to drive the real energy transition.

GP JOULE EPC Ireland Ltd is a newly established and growing team focused on the engineering, procurement, and construction of utility-scale solar PV projects and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). Based in Leixlip, our Irish operations are supported by the wider GP JOULE Group in Germany, combining local agility with international expertise.

We are looking for a full-time employee for GP JOULE EPC Ireland Ltd. to start as soon as possible at our Leixlip Office (hybrid model): If you're ready to make a meaningful impact in Ireland’s renewable energy transition and thrive in a role where your voice matters, we’d love to hear from you.

The Role

We’re looking for a motivated and commercially astute Senior Quantity Surveyor to help drive the success of GP Joule EPC Ireland’s growing operations. Reporting to the Country Manager, you’ll play a central role in delivering utility-scale Solar PV and BESS projects, taking ownership of procurement strategies, managing key subcontractor packages, and providing critical commercial insight. This is a chance to join a dynamic, collaborative team at a pivotal moment — where your expertise will directly influence how we build, grow, and deliver for our clients. You’ll be empowered to shape processes, contribute to strategic decisions, and help establish best practices as we scale.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to commercial success across the full project lifecycle, including cost planning, budget forecasting, interim and final account preparation, and ensuring contract provisions such as notifications are effectively administered.
  • Manage valuations, payments, and subcontractor relationships, including preparing applications for payment, certifying subcontractor payments, managing variations, and collaboratively negotiating final accounts.
  • Take a leading role in subcontractor and supplier procurement, including developing BOQs and tender documentation, issuing subcontracts, and supporting the Country Manager in responding to RFTs with a focus on teamwork and shared goals.
  • Collaborate with GP Joule’s German procurement team to support strategic sourcing and ensure alignment with group-wide procurement strategies and contractual standards.
  • Ensure contract and compliance excellence, including preparing and managing documentation, upholding health & safety and specification standards, and maintaining accurate records in line with company policy.
  • Foster strong communication and team development, producing clear commercial reports, engaging with stakeholders, and mentoring junior colleagues to support their growth and success.
Requirements
  • A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of post-graduate experience in quantity surveying, ideally with exposure to civil, electrical, or renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration and commercial management, with working knowledge of standard forms of contract including FIDIC and NEC as well as familiarity with methods of measurement, particularly ARM and CESMM.
  • Experience in preparing BOQs, tender documentation, and managing subcontractor procurement and contract negotiations.
  • Proficiency in QS software and MS Office; ability to interpret technical drawings and contribute to collaborative planning.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive working relationships across teams and with external partners.
  • Chartered status or actively working towards chartership with SCSI (or RICS).

Our profile description contains a variety of different skills that are relevant to the position. Please apply even if you do not yet meet all the requirements 100%. We believe that everything can be learned and we are happy to support you in this process.

Offerings
  • Flexible working hours totaling 37.5 hours full-time, with hybrid working model.
  • Working in a new subsidiary with a start-up environment, flat hierarchies, and direct collaboration with the Country Manager
  • Competitive salary, an annual performance-based bonus and 35 annual leave days including public holidays and half-day Fridays based on company needs
  • Membership of company health insurance scheme and immediate membership of company pension scheme
  • Career development opportunities within GP Joule Group
  • Professional development support, including courses and certifications
  • Collaborative and inclusive team culture through team events an social activities
